Operating Electric Wheels Hire Vehicles

A quick reference check list for operating an Electric Wheels UTV. Please follow these instructions before driving.

1. Disconnect all charging leads from the vehicle before attempting to turn on the vehicle.

2. Ensure the vehicle is in N (Neutral) gear before switching on the ignition. Neutral gear is the middle position on the F/R switch.

3. Use the supplied key to turn on the ignition. The dashboard LCD screen will come on to indicate that the vehicle is ready to be put into gear to drive.

4. Release the parking brake and keep your footbrake compressed down to remain stationary until you are ready to pull away.

5. Select a gear using the L, M, H switch (low, medium or high power).

6. Select either F for forward and R for reverse driving.

7. Release the foot brake and press down on the accelerator to drive away.

Our electric UTVs are ideal for hire as they are simple to use and charge. However, on occasion, you may find that you have difficulties operating your vehicle. Here are some of our more commonly asked technical support questions.

Troubleshooting guide

1. First check that the red emergency stop button on your dashboard is not pushed down (suppressed) as this will kill all power.

2. Check the battery power remaining on the vehicle. Is the dash screen showing the available battery flashing on the bottom bar? This indicates that you are low on power and need to charge your vehicle before driving.

1. Check your power supply is switched on and all charging lead connections are correctly in place.

2. Check that the charging lead light is red. This indicates that there is power going from your electricity source through the lead. If there is no red light, there is likely an issue with your power supply. Move to a different power source and attempt to charge the vehicle again.

3. If the red light is showing on the cable lead, please check the red emergency stop button on the dashboard is not pushed down as this will prevent the vehicle from charging. If this is suppressed, pull the button up to allow charging to take place.

4. Please check the dashboard for a flashing indicator light. This signifies that the vehicle is charging. Typically, vehicles require charging for 6-8 hours and so should be left overnight if possible to fully charge.

Check whether the diff lock and 4WD are activated. If so, please switch back to 2WD then turn the vehicle off to release the steering.

If this fails to rectify the issue, raise the vehicle using a jack and allow the wheels to unwind.

This usually signifies that the vehicle is running low on its battery. Use the Low gear setting to drive to a power source and check the available battery remaining on the dashboard. We recommend charging the vehicle every night, even if the battery has not been fully depleted.
